They are characterised by a very distinctive structure: a long series of sharp peaks, narrow valleys and rock pinnacles. The most famous of these rock formations is the bell tower of Val Montanaia, known as the cry of stone. Only here do you encounter a few hikers, while the rest of the route is very wild and uncrowded. This area is almost completely untouched by tourism, forgotten in the shadow of the more famous Dolomites. Yet it has a charm and beauty that is every bit as good as the more famous peaks. On this beautiful trek, a real hiking expedition, we will visit the Giaf, Flaiban-Pacherini, Pordenone and Padova mountain huts in four days, crossing the beautiful and wild valleys of the Pramaggiore, Monfalconi, Spalti di Toro and Cridola mountain ranges at high altitude. We will walk on challenging trails surrounded by the wild beauty of the Dolomites, encountering few other hikers during the day. Every evening, we will be welcomed by a mountain hut like those of yesteryear: no spa or double rooms, but plenty of kindness, warmth and good food, just what we need to rest after a day's walking. DIFFICULTY This trek is challenging, both because of the significant elevation gains to be made each day, which will require several hours of walking, and because of the difficulty of the trails. We will tackle exposed passages, narrow, steep trails and scree slopes. This trek is suitable for you if you are already an experienced hiker, do not suffer from vertigo, are well trained and are not afraid to tackle some challenging sections.
