Pelmo is one of the most iconic mountains in the Dolomites: it looks like a single rock, fallen there by chance, isolated from all the other peaks. With this wide loop, we can admire it in all its facets and finally decide who is right about which side is the most beautiful: Zoldano, Fiorentino or Cadorino? We will follow the classic and challenging Pelmo loop, making it even more interesting! On the first day, we will tackle the most challenging section, climbing the steep Val d'Arcia pass, and then stop to rest for the night on the beautiful meadows at the foot of Pelmo. In the evening, we will listen to the bellowing of the deer, which begin their mating season at this time of year. If the sky is clear, we will be able to admire the Milky Way! In the morning, we will get up very early to have breakfast in a special place: on the summit of Monte Pena, we will make ourselves a coffee while admiring the Pelmo ablaze at dawn. On the way back, I will make a detour to see the dinosaur footprints and discover when and how dinosaurs walked on the summit of Mount Pelmo. DIFFICULTY Medium difficulty, some exposed and slippery passages in Val d'Arcia. Otherwise, comfortable trails and moderate daily elevation gain. Approximately 5 hours of walking per day.
